There's a quiet kind of magic in sashiko, the traditional Japanese art of simple, even hand stitching that turns plain fabric into something beautiful. In this workshop, Chow L2 will guide you through the basics of sashiko, from the fundamental techniques to a few classic stitch patterns, as you settle into the calming, meditative rhythm of stitching by hand. By the end of the session, you'll have your very own sashiko piece, ready to be framed and treasured. 

This one's perfect if you're new to sewing altogether, or simply looking for a slower, more mindful way to spend an afternoon.

This workshop welcomes beginner sock knitters with some experience working in the round, as well as more experienced knitters who find socks intimidating and want to learn how to knit ones that truly fit. Whether you throw or pick, and whichever way you knit in the round, you're welcome here, just make sure you're comfortable in the set-up you'll be using. Each session runs two hours, with theory and knitting time with consultation alongside, in a small class of two to eight knitters, closing with a casual show-and-tell in the final week.

The Great Yarn Destash is back at The Plaza, and we'd love to have you join us as a vendor this year. 

It's a one day, suitcase style marketplace where preloved yarns, tools and treasures find their way to new homes, and you get to free up a little space for fresh inspiration of your own. Setup is refreshingly simple: sell straight from your suitcase, crate or a low display, no tables or elaborate set-ups needed. 

You're welcome to bring unwanted yarns, crafting tools and accessories, books, patterns and the like, as long as everything is clean and either gently used or new. Please note that handmade items and finished products aren't part of this one, it's all about giving existing stash and supplies a second life. 

Whether you're a serial stasher or simply having a bit of a clear-out, this is a lovely way to let your forgotten supplies shine again, and to spend the day among fellow makers doing the same.

Slow down, settle in, and spend a gentle Friday evening with us at Lyrical Threads, a night that's extra special as we also celebrate the close of our Texture Together crochet-along. 

Since August, a community of crocheters has been working through a Linda Skuja pattern together, and this is where it all comes together. If you're part of the CAL, come along wearing your finished make and celebrate the journey with fellow crocheters who made it alongside you. And if you're not, you're just as welcome, this remains an open craft night for anyone who'd like to spend an evening making things with their hands. Bring along your knitting, crochet, embroidery, weaving, mending, or any creative work in progress, and enjoy a few unhurried hours of crafting in the company of fellow makers. 

There are no deadlines, no pressure, and no expectations to finish a project. Just a cosy studio, good conversations, shared inspiration, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something with your own hands.
