Celebrating National Craft Month 2024 at Yarning Hearts

National Craft Month is an annual celebration of creativity and crafting that takes place every March. Started by the Craft and Hobby Association in 1994, National Craft Month inspires all kinds of mediums, from paper to yarn to paint to leather, the month is dedicated to creativity and inspiration. Whatever motivates you, take your craft from idea to reality this month. Celebrating National Craft Month at Yarning Hearts
We kick off National Craft Month with a Yarn and Accessories Sale (Green) at our store, so that you can pick up the supplies you need to make this month a crafty one! From 1 March to 3 March 2024, head down to our physical store at 7500A Beach Road #01-314 or shop online at www.yarninghearts.com. We are offering 10% off all Craft Kits and 3% off all yarns and craft accessories (no code required).

Every Wednesday, we will announce a weekly challenge - YH Craft Challenge (Blue) - on our social media platforms (www.instagram.com/yarning.hearts), where our followers can participate in the challenge and post their photos with the hashtag #YHCraftChallenge. Complete all 4 challenges and you will be entered into a lucky draw to win attractive prizes! So mark your calenders for 6, 13, 20 and 27 March 2024!!

Lyrical Threads 2024
On 10 March 2024, we celebrate the return of Lyrical Threads (Yellow), with a very very special event - YARN SWAP CRAFTERNOONS!
We will be holding a yarn swap event during our first Lyrical Threads Crafternoon. More details can be found on our booking page. This event is only limited to 20 pax to ensure comfortable space so book your slots early!

Join us for a magical afternoon of storytelling and flower crown crafting, perfect for kids and parents alike! Designed to celebrate creativity, nature, and the powerful stories of female role models, this event is the perfect opportunity to create and celebrate International’s Women Day. No previous crafting experience is required. Be sure to book early and prepare for an afternoon filled with creativity, inspiration, and fun!

Sashiko Art Workshop at Yarning Hearts
16 March 2024, 2pm - 5pm
Sashiko sewing is not complex, but it is precise and a delicate form of sewing that trains our precision, consistency and patience. It is a beautiful expression of sophistication and elegance.  In this 3-hour workshop, participants will receive a Sashiko kit that includes: a Japanese Sashiko authentic pattern fabric, 3 skeins of 20m each of sashiko thread, A set of sashiko needles and a handmade pouch to keep the crafts.

Stitchless Leather Notions Pouch Workshop
17 March 2024, 2pm - 4pm
See for yourself and experience how you can craft a leather pouch over 2 hours of fun. You will learn how to stitch without stitching, punch holes over leather and apply buttons and rivets on leather. At the end of the session, you will take home with you a notions pouch to store your notions and stitching accessories that looks beautiful and practical to use.

Jesmonite Marbling and Terrazzo Workshop
23 March 2024, 2pm - 4pm
This workshop is catered for individuals aged 10 and up. You will learn colour matching, wispy marbling and 2 terrazzo-embedding techniques, to cast your own trays. A great activity for bonding! This is a hands-on session and each participant will create 2 trays from scratch, using water-based resin (Jesmonite), and pigments.

Embroider Mending with Momshoo
24 March 2024, 2pm - 5pm
Drawing inspirations from age-old textile-repair traditions like boroboro in Japan or Kantha in India (or the old-school thrifty habits of our grandparents!), the movement of visible mending is growing.  In this workshop, we explore how to mend your textiles creatively with embroidery techniques. A variety of methods will be introduced to cover up holes/stains and prevent tears from getting bigger.

Reflective Art Experience at Yarning Hearts
30 March 2024, 1pm - 3pm
Reflect through art with Mind in the Mountains as we create art therapeutically and discover the beauty in what seemed to be chaos in our lives. We will explore various print methods using nature and tools that seems like junk to make prints on upcycled clothing or totebags that express a journey of chaos to beauty.
