The Knitting Stitches Card Deck does exactly that, 52 cards of simple stitches and textured stitch patterns, each one showing the finished texture alongside clear instructions for working it.

    Compiled by Claire Crompton, who has spent years rediscovering knitting stitches and textures, the deck draws on her book The Knitter’s Bible Stitch Library. A 24 page booklet is included to cover the foundation stitches, so beginners have somewhere to start before moving on to the cards themselves.

    How it is structured

    Each of the 52 cards shows one stitch or stitch pattern, with the finished texture pictured and written instructions for working it. The accompanying 24 page booklet sets out the foundation stitches first, so newer knitters have the basics in hand before working through the deck. The cards themselves are sturdy enough to carry in a project bag and come packaged in a wafer sealed box.
